OBJECTIVES

Women Scream International in conjuction with Creative writers forum of the Society of Young Nigerian writers is organizing a min-conference aimed to sensithize the public on the issue of violence against women or gender based violence. We will poetry readings, art exhibitions and even musical renditions but the main thrust of the event will be poetry  readings.
Generally, we will honor women and give a platform for poets, and artists, to raise their voices against women violence through art. Issues such as Domestic Violence, sexuall harrassment, women's rights and rape will also be discussed and ultimately expressed through different artistic media.
         Through our art, we wish to reach out to the victimized and helpless women out there who have no voice to speak for them and are being oppressed in one way or the other. Art is a powerful medium of expression and social emmancipation and through this mini-conference, we want to give a voice for the oppressed women and also use it as a platform for young poets and artists to express themselves
